Jessica Bellofatto created the Yoga Athletica™ style yoga class, inspired by her love of athletic endeavors such as triathlons, paddlesurfing, standup paddleboarding, surfing, tennis, and more. When training for her first triathlons several years back, and increasing her running distances, she realized she had to create a yoga sequence that would address the needs of the athletic individual. The increased demands of these activities, the increased stress on the body, required a different type of yoga program. Thus Yoga Athletica™ was born.
Still a demanding physical workout in and of itself, this class will focus on strengthening and stretching all of the major muscle groups, especially the core. We will incorporate breathwork to open up the chest, lungs, and heart, as well as meditation to develop focus and concentration. And yes, this is still YOGA. Not diluted. Not watered down at all. Ultimate goal - ONENESS!
